Work
I'm James Butler. I'm a graphic designer currently living in St. Louis, MO. I have done a range of work from package and print design, logos and branding, signage design, all the way to custom fabrication and woodworking. Examples of my work are shared here in this portfolio page. Most of my work has been done in St. Louis, Missouri.

BlackArc Design- Brand Identity
A logo design and full brand identity for a St. Louis Architecture entrepreneur who is working to make design and architecture approachable to the underserved population in our city..

Center Cafe
Originally an interiors-only project for Arcturis, the client pulled in the graphic design team at the last second during the construction phase to develop and implement a complete brand identity for the cafe within a month. The project’s goal was to establish the cafe as a contemporary addition to the America’s Center, as well as seamlessly integrate the business into the lively Downtown Washington Avenue District.

Local Lands: The Brickline Greenway
Garner & Supply Company
Designed in collaboration with Chelsey Farris, the company was established as a business venture to learn more about the creation and distribution of
custom designed and vintage goods.

SPACE Architects + Designers + Builders Rebrand
To establish one unified brand, SPACE decided to rename itself in 2017 to include all services provided. Before this change, the brand went by two distinct names for the business with separate logos for each. The original logos relied solely on color as the distinction between the two sides of the business. The re-design removed this reliance on color. Additionally, an alternative version of the logo was designed to open up the icon, playing
with the concept of open SPACE.
St. Louis Pennant
Inspired by vintage travel pennants and the city’s flag, this pennant was designed to commemorate the rich history of St. Louis and celebrate the city’s history. Designed and produced in collaboration with Oxford Pennant Company.
